On November 2, 1936, the Canadian Broadcasting Act replaced the Canadian Radio Broadcasting Commission with a Crown corporation known as CBC/Radio-Canada. In the 75 years since, Canada’s National Public Broadcaster has become one of the country’s most storied institutions.

A host of special events and programming initiatives marking the Corporation’s 75th anniversary will be taking place over the course of 2011, particularly during the 75 days leading up to the offical anniversary date of November 2.
